A Home-Grown Metal
Tunite Alloy is a new metal created by Callaway Golf metallurgists. It weighs approximately 20 percent more than stainless steel and is twice the density of titanium. Tunite forms the cradle of the club on our FT Irons and is used for the weight inserts on our FT i-brid Irons. It is made of a base of tungsten and nickel. A small amount of silicon softens the mixture; and ferro-chromium is added to allow it to be polished.
