Our Mission
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation strives to create healthy communities where our stakeholders live and work. Our focus is to support programs that improve lives and contribute to communities on a select basis. The Foundation also serves as a catalyst for our employees to become involved in and contribute to their communities.

The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has an excellent track record of identifying worthwhile causes and groups that fit its goals.  It does not accept unsolicited requests for grants.

Foundation Activities

Callaway Golf Foundation Women’s Cancer Initiative
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has donated $1 million to the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Programs to create the Callaway Golf Foundation Women's Cancer Initiative (CGFWCI).  As an initial step in this innovative partnership, Callaway Golf Foundation and Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) have teamed up with four leading cancer facilities to fast-track breakthrough ovarian cancer tests and treatments.  These institutions, recognized for their outstanding work in ovarian cancer research, include:  Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute (WCRI); The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins.  Led by Dr. Beth Karlan, Director of the Cedars-Sinai WCRI at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, the CGFWCI is a collaborative, national project designed to advance treatment of ovarian cancer through molecular profiling, biomarker discovery and targeted therapy development.

Pro Kids Golf Academy and Learning Center
Pro Kids Golf Academy & Learning Center (PKGA) was founded in 1994 with the mission to positively impact the lives of inner-city youth by providing programs that promote education, character development, life-skills, and values through the game of golf.  Operating out of the Colina Park Golf Course in City Heights, PKGA has provided programs for more than 12,000 local youth between the ages of four and 18 years.  These programs include: Golf and life skills instruction, learning center classes, vocational field trips, internships, college scholarships and community service opportunities.  Since 1994, the Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided grants in the amount of $553,000 to the Colina Park site.  The Foundation is currently working with PKGA on the development of a second site.

Boys and Girls Club of America
The Boys & Girls Clubs organization provides essential youth development enrichment activities to boys and girls. Typically, Clubs are strategically positioned to provide these services to young people who come from disadvantaged circumstances, including single parent households and dual working parents who have desire for their children to be actively involved in quality low-cost development activities with professional, caring staff.  Staff is trained to mentor and guide youth in their decision-making, to help them learn to use sound judgment about personal safety, nutrition and avoidance of drugs and alcohol.  Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided grants totaling $180,000 from 2004 – 2006 to four Boy’s & Girls Clubs for their Gangbusters/Life Skills Program collaboration.

American Red Cross
In support of Firestorm 2007, the Callaway Golf Company Foundation provided a grant in the amount of $100,000 to directly support the San Diego Wild Fires.  Past contributions have included a grant of $50,000 to the American Red Cross 2005 Disaster Relief Fund as well as matching employee contributions of $21,779.

PGA Tour Charities, Inc.
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided grants to date in the amount of $38,400 in support of the Birdies For The Brave fundraising effort.  Birdies For The Brave equally funds two separate groups:  Special Ops Warrior Fund and Homes For Our Troops.  This donation reflects a contribution for each Birdie and Eagle made by Phil Mickelson on the PGA Tour.

Homes for Our Troops is committed to helping those who have selflessly served their country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries. The Warrior Foundation provides college scholarship grants, not loans, to the children of special operations personnel killed in combat or training.

Challenged Athletes, Inc.
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided total donations of $15,600 in support of employees that participated in Bike to Work Day.  Established in 1997, the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is a unique organization that recognizes the athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical challenges and supports their athletic endeavors by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.

America’s Foundation for Chess
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided a grant in the amount of $15,000 to support this program at four at risk schools.

America's Foundation for Chess (AF4C) has created a professionally designed, standards-based curriculum titled First Move™, utilizing the game of chess as a learning tool for 2nd and 3rd grade students. Students are having fun learning, while the requirements set forth by the No Child Left Behind Act, and state standards are being met.  The vision of AF4C is to provide elementary school students with an opportunity to develop essential life skills such as the power to think ahead, make good choices, and think analytically.

Humane Society of the United States
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation matched employee contributions and donated a total of $11,410 to the Humane Society of the United States in response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005.  The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization—backed by 10 million Americans, or one in every 30.  Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people.

America’s Second Harvest
