Foundation Activities
Pro Kids Golf Academy and Learning Center
Pro Kids Golf Academy & Learning Center (PKGA) was founded in 1994 with the mission to positively impact the lives of inner-city youth by providing programs that promote education, character development, life-skills, and values through the game of golf. Operating out of the Colina Park Golf Course in City Heights, PKGA has provided programs for more than 12,000 local youth between the ages of four and 18 years. These programs include: Golf and life skills instruction, learning center classes, vocational field trips, internships, college scholarships and community service opportunities. Since 1994, the Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided grants in the amount of just over $714,000 to the Colina Park site. Planning for the proposed Ely Callaway Learning Center, the new Pro Kids facility to be built in Oceanside continues forward. The Callaway Foundation has committed $2 million dollars toward this project.
The 3,800 square foot Ely Callaway Golf & Learning Center will house a swing simulator room, 10-station computer lab, a classroom, small meeting/study room, retail, equipment storage, golf pros’ office, club repair center, and administrative offices. Although built to fit on a 6.5-acre site, the course itself will have the look and feel of a regulation golf course and will consist of six holes ranging in length from 53 to 112 yards.
Pro Kids board and staff are busy working on the plans, supported by outside architects, engineers, and other professionals, many of whom are donating their critical services. They are working closely with the City of Oceanside and hope to have all the necessary permits to begin construction in 2010.
The Southern California Golf Foundation
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided total donations of $60,000 in support of The Southern California Golf Association Youth On Course program. The SCGA Foundation Youth On Course program is increasing the affordability and accessibility of golf for youth by establishing $1-$5 green fees and $1 range fees at golf facilities during off-peak hours. The participants are all certified by junior golf organizations for golf rules, etiquette, and ability, but also must be part of a life skills or educational program (such as The First Tee Life Skills Curriculum). Through a partnership with the NCGA Foundation, Youth On Course is a statewide initiative. Both Foundations believe that golf teaches integrity, character, and responsibility in a way that few activities can match. With affordable access to golf, the game will continue to grow, but more importantly, youth will have the opportunity to experience the life skills that it teaches on a more frequent basis.
Challenged Athletes, Inc.
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation has provided total donations of over $45,000 in support of employees that participated in Bike to Work Day. Established in 1997, the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) is a unique organization that recognizes the athletic greatness inherent in all people with physical challenges and supports their athletic endeavors by providing grants for training, competition and equipment needs.
Callaway Golf Foundation Women’s Cancer Initiative
The Callaway Golf Company Foundation was proud to be a supporter of the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Programs. The Callaway Golf Foundation Women's Cancer Initiative (CGFWCI), donated a total of $2 million dollars and teamed up with four leading cancer facilities to fast-track breakthrough ovarian cancer tests and treatments. These institutions, recognized for their outstanding work in ovarian cancer research, included: Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Research Institute (WCRI); The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center; and Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. Led by Dr. Beth Karlan, Director of the Cedars-Sinai WCRI at the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute, the CGFWCI is a collaborative, national project designed to advance treatment of ovarian cancer through molecular profiling, biomarker discovery and targeted therapy development.
Employee Matching Gift Program
The purpose of the Callaway Golf Employee Matching Gift Program is to support employees and directors in their charitable giving. The Callaway Golf Company Foundation gives back to the community by matching individual gifts made to qualified nonprofit organizations.

Callaway Golf Company Foundation is pleased to provide a program to benefit dependents of Callaway Golf employees. The Scholarship Program provides financial awards to promising students who seek higher education. The Scholarship Program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a department of Citizens' Scholarship Foundation of America, Inc. (CSFA).
