Moment of Inertia (MOI) in Golf Balls
The Tour i is a groundbreaking golf ball in terms of improving the MOI in a golf ball. We haven’t tested any ball with a higher MOI than the Tour i. To achieve the higher MOI in the Tour i and Tour ix, our engineers designed these balls with perimeter weighting. Essentially the outer core and mantle layer are made with a denser material to move weight from the center to the perimeter of the golf ball. As weight moves to the perimeter, the MOI is increased.
