Furyk, Horsey’s Win, and Odyssey – 3 Things From The Weekend

#TeamCallaway and Odyssey made all kinds of news on Tour over the weekend, as Jim Furyk was in contention again, David Horsey won on the European Tour and Odyssey posted 3 wins and another major championship victory. Here are 3 things you need to know from last week:

1. Furyk’s Year – 3 Runner-Ups and 7 Top-10s

Jim Furyk has to lead the conversation when we talk about most consistent players on Tour this year. After finishing 2nd at the Canadian Open, he’s now posted 3 runner-ups and 7 top-10s in 2014. Furyk’s all the way up to 5th in the FedExCup standings and his driver has been one of the keys to his success this season.

He’s been playing a Big Bertha Driver (9°) and an SR 3 Golf Ball since his first start of the year, and is now 8th on the PGA Tour in driving accuracy (70.5%). At the Canadian Open, he made only two bogeys on the week and shot 67-63-65-69 to put himself in the mix. Over his last 6 starts, Furyk has earned 3 runner-ups and a 4th place finish at Hoylake, and he’s 15-for-15 on making the cut this year. Nicely done, Jim!

2. Odyssey – 3 Wins Sunday, Won Every Champions Tour Major In 2014

Odyssey Putters kept their Tour domination going with 3 more wins on Sunday, which came on the PGA Tour, European Tour, and a major victory at the Sr. British Open. The #1 Putter in Golf now has 42 worldwide Tour wins this season (by far the most of any putter brand), and won all 5 majors this year on the Champions Tour, highlighted by Colin Montgomerie’s Sr. PGA Championship and U.S. Senior Open wins with Tank Cruiser Putters. Now that’s what we mean by Tour proven.

3. David Horsey’s Winning Bag- Russian Open

Callaway staffer David Horsey made a cluth eagle chip-in at the 17th hole on Sunday and then made par on the first hole of a playoff to win the Russian Open, his 3rd career European Tour win. Here’s some of the key equipment in his bag:

X2 Hot Driver (9°)

X2 Hot Pro Fairway Wood (15°)

X2 Hot Pro Hybrid (18°)

X2 Hot Pro Hybrid (20°)

An SR 3 Golf Ball

This is the 10th worldwide Tour win for SR Golf Balls this year. Congratulations to David on a dramatic victory!
