Sandra Gal’s new X2 Hot Driver had a coming out party to remember with a spectacular performance at the LPGA Tour’s season-ending CME Group Titleholders. In her first tournament round playing the new driver, Gal hit 13 of 14 fairways, carded nine birdies and posted 64 on her way to a solo 4th place finish over the weekend. She hit a remarkable 83.9% of fairways and made 18 birdies for the week.
If there’s one key takeaway that the new X2 Hot Driver hammers home, it’s that more distance never gets old. It starts with a new Hyper Speed Face that’s our fastest, thinnest all titanium driver ever, which we use for faster ball speeds, a 10% larger sweet spot and more forgiveness.
Then there’s the Alida Tour Shafts, improved head construction, and an advanced adjustable hosel that give you even more ball speed. It’s certainly been working out for Sandra.
Bjorn Finishes 2nd At World Cup Of Golf, Ishikawa T5
Thomas Bjorn and Ryo Ishikawa have been all over the first page of tournament leaderboards lately, and last weekend was no different. While the European Tour vet (2nd) made a serious run at the win, the 22-year-old played superstar (T5) played four solid rounds at an ISPS Handa World Cup of Golf that featured a who’s who of elite Tour players.
Top-10s are old news to Bjorn at this point, he had eight of them during the 2013 European Tour season, highlighted by his win at the Omega European Tour masters. As for Ishikawa, he’s already enjoyed a T2 at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open to kick start his 2013-2014 PGA Tour season, and his confidence appears to be running on high over the last few months. The consistency these guys are showing is a whole lot of fun to watch!
Odyssey #1 Putter On All Tours. By A Lot. Again.
Just like it was two weeks ago, Odyssey was the #1 Putter (by a lot) on every major worldwide Tour that held an event last week.
The numbers on the LPGA (48%), European (44%), Japanese (52%), and Japanese LPGA (76%) show just how much our putters are still rolling, even as the calendar year starts to wind down.

Woodland On Callaway Talks, Gets #XBomb Belt
In his first year as a Callaway staffer, Gary Woodland won the Reno-Tahoe Open, made some serious noise in the FedExCup Playoffs, and seemed to contend week in and week from the summer months to the end of the season.
Of course, he also ran off a ridiculous number of X Bombs and eventually locked up the 2013 X Bomb Belt title.
We caught up with GW for a Callaway Talks episode during our 2014 Ad Shot in Las Vegas, and surprised him with his new belt during the taping. You can catch all the fun in the new Callaway Talks episode. Have a great holiday weekend!
