Callaway Golf Canada now Presenting Sponsor of the National Golf In Schools Program
Callaway Golf Canada is helping to grow the game of golf at the grassroots level by becoming the presenting sponsor of the National Golf in Schools Program. Golf in Schools, presented by Callaway, will provide hundreds of participating elementary schools across the country with the required equipment and teaching curriculum manual to integrate golf into these schools' physical education programs. Callaway will help bring the program to these schools and introduce the sport to thousands of young children.
The decision to support Golf in Schools is based on Callaway's longstanding commitment to grass roots golf. "We have been very interested and excited about the Golf in Schools program since its inception," said Scott Reid, Callaway Golf Canada's Managing Director. "To now be able to put some concerted time, effort and funds in behind this initiative gives us hope that the health and future of the game has a true fighting stance to succeed." Callaway's support of Golf in Schools builds off the Company's involvement with the Callaway Golf for Kids program, which supplements the Golf in Schools program in the province of Ontario.
Golf Canada and the PGA of Canada are proud of the role Callaway Golf Canada has taken with the program. "I want to thank and congratulate Callaway Golf Canada for stepping up in support of the Golf in Schools program and taking a leadership role in helping to develop a new generation of golfers," said Golf Canada Executive Director and CEO Scott Simmons. PGA of Canada Chief Executive Officer Gary Bernard also added, "I believe Callaway's involvement can only benefit the program in getting more kids introduced to golf and have them start down the pathway to a life in the game."
