Hal Sutton had his first PGA Tour win in 1982 at the Walt Disney World Golf Classic. In 2004, he worked as a part-time analyst for ABC Sports. In his off time, he enjoys riding horses and sells cutting horses as a side business. He also started a business designing golf courses. Hal has also established the Christus Schumpert Sutton Children’s Hospital in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. In 2006, he was awarded the Golf Writers Association of America’s Charlie Bartlett Award, along with Kelly Gibson and David Toms, for their combined efforts to raise more than $2 million for victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. In 2007, he received the Payne Stewart Award for his charitable contributions. In April of 2008, Hal became eligible to play on the Champions Tour. His favorite book is The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews.
