In October of 2008, Justin Timberlake reached an agreement with Callaway Golf to play the Company’s equipment and carry a Callaway branded golf bag. Timberlake learned to hit golf balls with his father at age 10, but took up the game more seriously while touring as a musician. He walked 18 holes with his then-stage manager, playing a few holes along the way. On the 18th hole, he hit a pure drive down the middle of the fairway and then hit the green with his approach shot. “I was hooked,” he says of that moment.
Today, Timberlake plays to a 6-handicap and estimates that he plays 30-50 rounds per year. He relishes the opportunity to get outdoors and escape from his often hectic schedule. “First of all, you really get away from everything,” he says. “I enjoy every facet of the game. I'm a pretty athletic person, and I think this is the toughest game I've ever played.” Timberlake regularly visits the Ely Callaway Performance Center in Carlsbad, California, to try and be custom fit for the newest equipment the Company has to offer.
