Vicky Hurst turned pro just out of high school, in 2008, and won four of her first eight starts on the Duramed Futures Tour, earning exempt status on the LPGA Tour for 2009. She was an American Junior Golf Association Player of the Year in 2007. Her high school did not have a girls’ golf team, so she competed on the boys’ team during the regular season, then in the girls’ division in the state tournament. She was the No. 1 player on the boys’ team as a sophomore, junior and senior and competed in the 2006 and 2007 U.S. Women’s Opens. She finished first in driving distance in 2009 and tied for second in 2010. She uses an Odyssey Putter and was selected to the U.S. Solheim Cup team in 2011.
