XR 16 Fairway Woods is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 140.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from XR16 3 WOOD Extremely forgiving and long of the tee. I average 260 off the tee, and 240 off the deck. That is huge for a 3 wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great off the deck I am starting to play again after a 20-year hiatus from the sport. The last time I played I was hitting persimmon woods. It took me 10-20 swings to really figure out how to smack this these clubs I purchased both the 3-wood and 5-wood from Callaway Pre-owned I find the clubs easy to hit and forgiving when you really muscle up on the swing. When you hit it on the screws the club sends the ball down the fairway like a cannon. When are close to the sweet spot, the club works the ball back on line. I find that I have some ability to work the clubs from the fairway. From the tee the 3-wood is my go to club on one of my home 9's. The distance is long and the range between average and longest hit is small (I guess this is consistency of length). If there is a criticism of the clubs it comes from trying to gap between the XR16 5-Wood and the 4-Hybrid BBertha. I find that these are almost the same club in my bag. I need to spend some time tweaking the gaps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fairwaywood I own both the 3 wood and 4 wood and alternate depending on the course and how I'm playing. I had custom shafts installed (RIP Beta 70 Stiff). Both are pretty solid. The 4 wood has a little too much loft for an everyday, every single course fairway wood for me. I have noticed with the 3 wood more so than the 4 wood that it can get left on miss hits (I'm still learning to hit a draw, so an occasional hook blows my mind). All in all I can hit the 3 wood 240-250 and I typically hit my driver 270-280 so it's pretty beastly long. It turns most par 5s into long to mid range par 4s

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Club Great club which is long. Took a little getting used too as it was heavier than my optifitce but once dialled in this is a great club to have in your bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XR17 Fairway Woods These replaced woods that I have been playing for years. They quickly made a believer out of me. The combination of distance and forgiveness is exceptional. Easy to get in the air for the senor player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of Callaway's best I'm an active 75 year old male with a 18 handicap-cap that has had and played most all of the top brand clubs. I always make a point to go to any demo day of any manufacturer that's in my area and try their clubs. I'm a person that will buy what I hit the best and most consistent off the tee as well as the turf. It is my opinion that you'll have a difficult time finding clubs that out preform the Callaway XR16 woods and irons. I play with all younger guys most of the time and realize I'm not as long as some of the young bloods, but guess what? I'm longer than most and I don't go away. Love these sticks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Callaway wood yet I have previously owned Ftiz, Diablo, X-hot, Big Bertha and XR FW's from Callaway. The XR16 seems to have incorporated all the best features of these prior generations. The one feature that helps my game is the cambered sole. The leading edge, being more rounded, slides through the fairway or short rough grass easier than previous models. I have not personally noticed a great increase in distance because I am a light hitter, but I have seen an increase in cleanly struck balls. I am keenly aware of all the competitors in the marketplace and though I have not played the others my personal opinion is that from an engineering standpoint Callaway clubs continue to be at or near the top of the field.
