Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now what do I do with my bag from another brand? I have been playing my 2002 Bertha irons for 15 years and just love them but I was curious about a new set because... well they are 15 years old. Last summer I bought another brand's Driver, 3, 5 and 3 Hybrid as well as their putter and just love them so I was so convinced I was also buying their irons that I bought their bag over the winter. Yesterday I went in to the PGA Tour Superstore because they had a demo day of the brand. I was early so I met with Greg, a store fitter and told him what I was looking for in irons. He commented that he would gladly let me hit those clubs but I should "just try" the Steelheads. 1. I thought because I am getting older that I should consider graphite shafts and he convinced me that my ball flight was so high that I needed steel shafts saving me a bunch of dough. 2. When I hit the Steelheads, OMG I was easily 10 yards longer. I tried working the ball, I hit some off center shots (not that I can do that on demand...) and consistently, my worst shot with the Steelheads was at least on par with my best shots from the other brand. Needless to say I bought the Steelheads and can't wait for them to get here to get them out on the course. Thanks Callaway and sorry I strayed a bit! I am coming home!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like playing with an old friend! I had the X-14 Pro Series Irons, and they were my favorite iron of all time. These look exactly like them, but with better tech. Since then I've had Titleist, Taylormade, and Mizuno, and nothing has felt like my X-14's. Callaway has hit another home run with these irons. Callaway for life!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The hardest thing to get used to is the extra 10 to 15 yards I'm getting with my mid to long irons. Great problem to have. Love these clubs. Best irons I have ever owned. Added distance on my low to mid irons. Great look and feel. Sweet spot is easy to hit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love 'em. Very solid. Even miss hits still get most of the distance.Club and a half stronger than my old clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love the way the steelhead feels in my hands. Extremely nice set of clubs for the amateur with a 10-12 handicap. I haven't had the opportunity to play much with my new steelhead XR irons, but they really feel good on the range. They are forgiving and that is great for the amateur guy. I feel like this purchase of the Steelhead XR iron will last me for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Good As Advertised I had the TM RocketBladez for 3 years, and they were great irons. I went for a fitting last summer convinced I was getting the Apex CF16, because I loved those irons, and I hit them better than my TMs. But the Steelheads had just come out, and lo and behold, I hit them better than the Apex. Had to go with what the computer said, and I haven't looked back. Bottom line, it's important to get fit for clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Feel Like I'm Cheating It's So Good! I got custom fitted for the Callaway Steelhead XR irons (6i - LW) and 4 and 5 hybrids recently and man do these irons make a difference. I had never been custom fit for clubs in all of my 30 years of off and on playing (shame on me). Now that I have been custom fit I will never buy standard clubs off the internet again. It's worth the extra money people. I am hitting the ball so much straighter and farther now. When I first hit these clubs, I was in shock! I felt like I was cheating, but what I was really experiencing was clubs that were fit to my swing. It's just like buying shoes. You wouldn't buy a pair of size 10's if you wear a size 12. I finally discovered that golf clubs are no different. The shafts I chose were the UST Recoil 760 ES F3 (regular flex), and these are the straightest shafts I have ever hit. They are like having steel shafts, but they are actually graphite. Go get fitted and try them out. I was at the driving range 2 days ago and I hit a postage stamp green (tiny target green) from 195 yards away with my 4 hybrid twice. It was a great feeling to have this much confidence when aiming at targets this far away. Thank you Callaway for once again hitting one completely out of the park!!
