Edge Hybrids/Irons Combo Set
Enyoy the hybrids, 7-GW did not meet my expectations
First of all, lets just say that I have several sets of various Callaway clubs. With that said, I believe that I can make an unbias review of these new Edges.
Just got these the other day. Took them to the driving range. Hybrids performed well. 7-GW was my problem clubs. I could not get comfortable with them. I couldn't get the distance that I was expecting. They reminded me of the Adams A120S set with the hollow blades. I played 18 holes on my home course and again, the hybrids performed very well, ball launches were good and the distance was this: 200 yards with the 4 hybrid, 180 yards with the 5 hybrid and 165 yards with 6 hybrid. There is one par 3 that is 168 yards to center (using my gps) and the 6 hybrid landed softly on the green and one putt for birdie. Great hybrids, getting the distance that I should be getting.
The problem is for me anyway, is in the 7-GW. I was 120 yards away from the green several times on long pars and found myself having to use the 9 iron. Why I asked myself? My one set of Callaways, the older Diablo Edges I can land the green at that yardage using the Pitching Wedge and that is with a nice, easy swing. I had to lean in to it with these new Edges with every iron shot 7-9 just to try to get some distance. These are regular shafted/graphite shafts. I just don't understand why the 7-GW were built the way they are? I saw no improvement and for newer technology, these clubs in the irons in my opinion have gone backwards.
I banked my reason for buying these clubs on the video that Callaway has used from their R&D. These clubs in the irons did not meet my expectations.
It would be a good thing if Callaway would break this golf set so that the hybrids would be available as a set or individual club for purchasing. They need to go back to the drawing board with the 7-GW. For the advertised price of 799.00 for the graphite set, you folks need to sale these at a much lesser price point.

Always struggled with 5/4/3/irons off the deck, but using Callaway edge hybrids 5/4/3,has made my game so much more enjoyable.Ihave to say, this complete edge set has made it so much easier to hit a golf ball off the fairways or semi rough.Getting fitted by callaway was,for me money well spent.note of caution,if carring make sure you have head covers on all clubs, the heads on the irons mark quite easily.

Just got a set of these clubs and I love them!
I've had them two months and couldn't be happier. I got my first hole in one yesterday, 2/22/14 on hole number 8 on Grandview Colf Course in Sun City West, AZ. What I thrill!. My iron shots have improved so much with these clubs I can't believe it. Thank's Calloway!!!!

Excellent clubs for a wide range of players
I got these clubs just before our season started here in the Midwest and I have been very happy with them. This is my sixth season of playing regularly and I have basically reached the bogey level of competence. With these clubs all you have to do is avoid making a horrible swing and you will get excellent height and distance. The accuracy is good and I think the only thing holding the accuracy from being excellent is the extreme variability of my swing. I think these clubs would help all mid and high handicappers; and I think they would help many lower handicap players if they were willing to give them a try.

Played 18 holes of disappointment
I have bought almost every type Callaway club since 1996, This was the first time I felt a step backwards. The irons are forgiving as advertised if you can stand the hollow feel on contact. The hybrids are great and get the ball up quickly with soft landings everytime. Even pitching with the irons felt a reverberation in the shaft to my hands. I lost at least one club distance with these irons. I have been playing the RAZR HL which is a quality iron without equal and I thought I was upgrading with the Edge. Not so, but the Hybrids in the set are very much as advertised. Quality and distance and forgiveness.

Excellent tool for fun !
Great forgiveness once you have them in hand.
I gained more than 10 meters compared to my previous Cleveland clubs. I played on yesterday in La Grande Motte in France and did one birdy and 3 pars, I love these clubs.
Good buy !

Hy's are great. 7-GW poor. purchased 11 and 7 utilities.
Advanced player, 78 yeas old, still play from regular vice senior tees: 12 handicap. I play light, low kick shafts. Son is a former tour pro.
Stock shafts (red ones) may be the problem with lost distance mainly because of low trajectory. Feel is variable shot to shot. Off center (mainly thin hits) very unforgiving.
Last years "x Hot" irons are much better. I have hit them w/ steel shafts and they feel great. Go back to that design w/ better shafts, to go forwarded.
Use to play x-16 and Big Bertha 454 Driver. Currently play L wedge, 11 and 7 utilities.
Callaway has always produces quality equipment. Can't always be perfect:)
