    Features + Details

    Increased Distance from Jailbreak Technology

Innovative new technology changes how the head and face behave at impact to promote more speed across a larger area of the face for increased average distance.

More Forgiveness and Lower Spin from Exo-Cage Construction

Innovative head construction unites our titanium Exo-cage with an ultra-light triaxial carbon crown and sole, allowing improved perimeter weighting for more forgiveness and makes it possible to position the CG in line with the neutral axis, which lowers spin.

Spin Control and Trajectory Control from Interchangeable Weights

Two interchangeable weights in the head (2g and 12g) to adjust spin-rate and launch angle. Put the 12g up front to lower spin; in back for higher launch and higher MOI.

Fast Head Speed from Industry-leading Aerodynamics

Streamlined head incorporates our proprietary Speed Step, created with direct input from aerospace experts, to improve airflow for more swing speed and distance.

    High-Performance Stock Shaft Options

HZRDUS, Fujikura, and Rogue in three weight classes: 50g, 60g, 70g. Each premium, Tour-proven shaft is engineered to promote speed, power, stability, feel and control:

    • 50g Class: Project X HZRDUS T800
    • 60g Class: Fujikura Pro Green, Aldila Rogue M•AX
    • 70g Class: Aldila Rogue M•AX

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epic Sub Zero Driver I received my Epic SZ driver on February 1, 2017. On February 2, 2017 I hit it on the course without warming up. I hit four drives on the first hole and all four found the fairway. The driver has more of a muted sound than the Great Big Bertha (GBB) I had been gaming, which is something I like. It has a sound that is similar to the old FT Tour driver. The feel at impact is very solid. The shots I hit with the driver seemed to have less spin than I was getting with the GBB because the ball flight appeared to be very flat. Where this club shines is in forgiveness. The clubhead is very forgiving across the face of the driver. For anyone who gets the "toe" hook with their current driver should try this driver. I am very impressed with the SZ.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CALLAWAY GGB EPIC IS WHAT IS SAYS ON THE TIN "EPIC" Went to get fitted for a Titleist 917D2 or D3 and was pretty pleased with the results until the fitter said to try the EPIC. I was totally blown away by the performance, at least 15yds longer than both Titleist models and almost 10yds longer than my 2016 M2. I was looking for a higher ball flight with less spin and the EPIC provided both. The EPIC was much easier to hit and as well as being longer the dispersion compared to the others was much tighter. Opted for the 10.5 model with the stock ProjectX Hzrdus T800 55g shaft in Stiff flex which I found a great combination. Driver arrived on release date and performed even better on the course with proper balls, not range balls which were used during the fitting, in fact almost 10yds longer. Yes a total of 25yds longer than my previous driver. It may seem expensive but if you can afford it I would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone. Go try it, you will not be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quantitive Improvement I'm an ex professional athlete who still has an eye for quality innovation and understands what technical product and personal improvements can bring to performance numbers. I've been playing a Titleist 915 D3 with a Project X 73 Gram 6.0 Stiff shaft. It behaves most of the time except for the occasional block out to the right. To compensate I set it to a draw bias in the hope that it will help my bad one. Generally, I'm can get it out to 255-265 yds depending on how it comes off the face. I had a driver fitting with my PGA pro and we went through the full selection of different shafts and heads. I tried all the major competitors and combinations which would suit my swing speed, ball flight and impact characteristics. Of the clubs tried the new Callaway Sub Zero, 9 degree, cranked up to 10.5 and with the stock Project X Stiff 6.0 55 Gram shaft. In short I'm knocking it an average 8 yds further but the most significant improvement is in dispersion. There just isn't any. It's like a frozen rope and the trajectory is just perfect. The block has gone and the resultant distance is due to all the Trackman numbers going in the right direction, spin, dynamic loft and ball speed being the most noticeable improvements. I'm in no way a 'big' hitter so I'll take the extra yards but the main improvement comes from hitting the fairway time after time. The result is better GIR stats and more birdie chances. Go and try it, you absolutely won't be disappointed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If can afford it buy it I demoed the Epic Sub Zero, the Epic, the Mizuno JPX 900 and a Taylor Made Slider with an AD JX shaft. The associate adjusted each club to maximize them to my swing characteristics. The Epic Sub Zero suited me the best. My numbers on the swing monitor where almost perfect with this club. I even match it against my old faithful driver (Taylor Made R11S). All of the drivers produced an improvement for me but the Epic Sub Zero out performed them all. I averaged between 265 and 270 with great accuracy. I even managed to hit one 290. The sound was a little muffled compared to the other drivers but the feel and performance far out weighed that. I am very excited about this club and can't wait to try it on the course. I am 72 years of age and I can't wait to sneak this one in on my fellow older and younger golfing partners. The specs on he Sub Zero were 9.5 head and Aldila Rogue 65 S shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Driver I've ever hit. Hands down. Got this bad boy in the mail today and immediately headed to the course. Played 27 hole and didn't lose a single ball of the tee. My 3rd drive was a 296 yard fade which is a big fade for me. It felt great, was very forgiving, and long. I had the M1 before I had this driver and this out performed it for me. Gained 10 to 15 yards a drive and alot more accuracy. The jailbreak technology really works. The hype is real, this driver is amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best drivers I've ever hit I work for a golf company and we received our demos last week. I took the Epic Sub Zero in a 10.5* with the Fujikura Pro 62 stiff flex out today. I hadn't even hit the driver on the range or in the Pro Shop. My first swing took me by surprise. The sound is a little muted and sounds like a composite baseball bat more than a metal one. GREAT feel, very easy to control and incredible distance. I flew the ball past where my drives usually end up. I know this because it was wet today and the ball got no roll whatsoever. This is the best driver I've ever hit. I demo every driver that we get and this one, no doubt, is the best. Hands down, end of discussion. If you have the means, get this driver. You will not regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tested Switching from the Nike 440 to the subject zero after testing on the launch monitor. Tested identical shafts in both heads and i gained around 7 yards avg with the sub zero. I have a step angle of attack so I struggle with high spin. This driver also lowered my spin RPMs a considerable amount. Looking forward to getting this on the course

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Great Big Bertha is well..........EPIC! Callaway is back at it again with this driver. I mean the only way to describe this driver is already in the name. I'm back on staff again and absolutely thrilled to be. Couldn't imagine being with anyone else. Yesterday was the first day I put this driver into play. WOW......just WOW! The look, I won't lie, is a little bulky, mainly because I've played 440cc and 450cc heads for the last several years. However, I forgot how easy a 460cc is to hit. I mean you just can't miss with it. I don't care where you hit on this clubface, it's going long, straight and rolling out. I have the 9.0 Degree Sub Zero head, knocked down to 8.0 degrees. The ball flight is absolutely nuts on this thing. Screams off the clubface, gets to the apex and then goes flat. No float, no balloon, no anything. Just carries forever and a day then rolls out another 10 or 15 yards. I have the Alidila Rouge Max in the driver currently. I will crunch numbers on my other two shafts at home to find the perfect fit, though the stock shaft in there is pretty close to ideal. I have an Oban Kiyoshi White and Matrix 7M3 Black Tie at home to be tested as well. I imagine all three will be amazing just because the head is unbelievable. Of the other new drivers I have hit, none even compare to the ball speeds and distance this is getting. The acoustics on it are a little different then my XR Pro. I would correlate them to the original relaunch of the Big Bertha driver. Kind of a muffled popping sound. The new line is Epic and that's all there is to it. Go try these at your local golf store, or find a demo day. I promise the results will be EPIC!
