How To Hit A Hybrid

Jeff Newton

David Leadbetter is a firm believer that hybrids are the “latest and greatest” as replacements to long irons. They’re longer, lighter and easy to get up in the air. You can play them from just about any lie, and David’s got a few thoughts to help you hit them well.

- Put the ball back in your stance and make a smooth swing
- Hit down and through the ball, just like an iron

You might be expecting a few more bullet points but nope, that’s really it. David stresses that you don’t need to do anything extra with a hybrid, just use the same approach as you do with a 7-iron. If you keep it simple, hybrids will be your friends on the course.
