50 wins. How is that even possible? Just look at that number again for a second. We’ll wait for you…You see the 50 up there, right?… Okay, welcome back.
So yes, while that number looks massive from the outset, and believe us it is, remember this. When you take the best players in the world and put the #1 Putter in Golf in their hands, these are the type of gaudy numbers you come to expect.
Odyssey Putters hit the big 5-0 for worldwide Tour wins on Sunday to add to a year in which they’ve been #1 in wins, #1 across the major Tours, #1 at every PGA Tour major, and #1 at every WGC event. Not a bad 2013, to say the least.
Kudos go out to a lot of people when you reach 50 wins, so congratulations to Odyssey Principal Designer Austie Rollinson and his design team, our Tour Reps, and of course all the players who drain big putts to take home the big trophies and checks! Cheers!
Grillo, Colsaerts and Quiros Post Top-10s in Europe
A week after celebrating his 21st birthday, Grillo delivered a solid all-around performance in Italy with a full Callaway bag, including an X Hot Pro Hybrid (20°), a RAZR Fit Xtreme 3-wood and RAZR X Muscleback Irons.
Quiros and Colsaerts did what they do best, which is to say they hit the ball really, really, really, really far. While Colsaerts ranked second in the field in driving distance at 311.6 yards, Quiros did him one better at 316 yards for the week with his 440cc FT Optiforce Driver (9.5°).
It’s awesome to just sit back and watch them do their thing, and we can only imagine what it’s like for our Tour Reps when they take a look at their launch monitor data.
Mickelson, Furyk and Woodland Close Out FedExCup Playoffs
All three Callaway staffers made some serious noise in the FedExCup Playoffs as they played their way into Atlanta for the Tour Championship.
Special recognition goes out to Furyk on that nice little 59 he put up at the BMW Championship, and Woodland’s run the last two months. Well done, boys!
Lefty’s Gold Putter
As if he wasn’t having enough fun already this year, Phil Mickelson last week received his gold Odyssey Putter (the one at the top of this post) to commemorate his fifth major win a few months back. The image proves that, yes, in case you had any doubts, it’s good to be Phil Mickelson.
Just look at that beauty! The gold Versa #9 Putter brings back a lot if incredible memories for us, watching our guy birdie four of the last six holes to cap off one of the best final round performances in major championship history. When you pull off a performance like he did in Scotland, you get a gold putter, end of story. Enjoy it, Lefty!
