Introducing Rogue X Irons

Features &
Benefits

  • 360 Face Cup and VFT
Rogue X Irons combine our renowned 360 Face Cup technology with Variable Face Thickness (VFT) technology to dramatically expand the portion of the face that delivers fast ball speed. Face Cup employs a shallow, flexible rim around the perimeter of the face that flexes and releases at impact to increase ball speed. VFT also influences how the face itself flexes to promote more ball speed on off-center hits. The combination of these two technologies promotes ball speed and distance (compared to X2 Hot irons).
  • Tungsten Weighting for Optimal Flight and Control
Tungsten Weighting allows us to position the CG in each of the long irons with extraordinary precision, promoting optimum launch and control at each individual loft. The tungsten, twice as heavy as steel, concentrates significant weight into a small space in the form of an intricately shaped part, which is key to precisely controlling CG location.
  • Urethane Microspheres for Phenomenal Sound and Feel
The upside of a thin clubface is faster ball speed and more distance, the downside is excessive vibration that generates an unpleasant sound and feel. Urethane can be used to dampen vibration to improve sound and feel, but it can also greatly reduce the face’s ability to flex, lowering COR and ball speed. Our elastic-urethane microspheres provide the sound and feel benefits of urethane without compromising COR or ball speed.
  • Radical Distance Tech Package
Lighter, longer, stronger: Compared to Rogue Standard, Rogue X is lighter in weight and longer in length, with stronger lofts. Wide sole pulls the CG low and deep for easy, high launch and long carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Clubs But Pay Attention to the Lofts and Distance Gapping I have never understood the disdain for a thick top line or offset, especially if the clubs perform, and the Rogue X irons perform. The ball flight is penetrating, yet these irons deliver stopping power with a good descent angle and plenty of spin. The forgiveness on mishits is quite good, and I have not had the unexpected flyer that sometimes comes with "distance" irons. The feel is exceptional, especially for a cast iron. And despite the top line and offset, they look good, too. The only thing I do not like is the numbering of the irons. Whereas most sets of irons have an A, G, or U wedge for the gap wedge between the sand wedge and pitching wedge, the Rogue X irons have both an A and a G wedge--that is two gap wedges between the sand wedge and the pitching wedge--which bumps the pitching wedge loft up to 9-iron loft, the 9 iron to 8-iron loft, etc. In fact, the lofts on the Rogue X are almost identical to those of the Rogue Pro or Apex CF16 irons, if you ignore the numbers stamped on the bottom of the clubs. Callaway seems to be considering that shaft length determines the number on the iron, but most everybody focuses on the loft. When testing, compare clubs of similar loft, and ignore the number stamped on the bottom. I still noticed a significant distance increase and better performance compared to my old irons of the same loft, ignoring the seduction of the misleading numbering. Except for this unnecessary marketing ploy, everything about the Rogue X irons is exceptional. Just pay attention to what you are getting and how it compares to your old clubs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought these used advertised as good condition more like average. Disappointed again in condition. Have a 5 year old set of Taylor Made irons that are in better condition than this set. But overall happy with this set for distance and playability

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Review of Callaway preowned clubs I have not used the Rogue x clubs I purchased as the courses are closed for the season here in the northeast. I will say that the irons I purchased as “like new” condition per the website categories are truly like brand new. I see no scuffs or marks on any of the irons in the set I purchased. The grips also look brand new with no visible wear at all. I also purchased a driver last year that was in the category of “good” condition that had minor scuffs and new grip. I highly recommend buying used Callaway clubs vs new for the money that is saved. Let’s face it, they will be scuffed up after the first round you play with them anyway. Plus they give a 1 year warranty on clubs. Kudos to Callaway!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good clubs for mid handicapers I am 70 and a 13 handicap, and the Rogue X irons have improved my accuracy. So far after 3 weeks of use I do not find a greater distance compared to my previous set. About 3-5 yards. Somewhat difficult to work side to side, but this benefits with the improved accuracy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sticks, great price, fast delivery! Hadn’t purchased new irons in 20 years, feel like a much younger golfer now! And how much is that worth? About 2 clubs longer it seems.
