The new Chrome Soft X LS is here which means the Chrome Soft Family has a new member! We are really excited about this new addition which has already generated some buzz on TOUR. But this begs the question, which Chrome Soft ball should I be playing? In this edition of the Fitting Room Podcast, our Director of Player Fitting and Performance, Michael Vrska and Golf Ball R&D Manager, Nick Yontz break down the new Chrome Soft X LS, where it fits in the Chrome Soft family, and which Chrome Soft ball you should be gaming to get maximum benefit out of the Chrome Soft golf ball.
At the Fitting Room, our episodes with Tour Players are some of our favorites since we always learn something new from the best players in the world. We were lucky enough to get some time with Kevin Na earlier this year fresh off his big win at the 2021 Sony Open and we go deep into his winning bag, his red hot putter, and his process for testing and evaluating new equipment.
This year there are three New Epic Driver models, all fast, all forgiving...so which one really is right for you? In this episode of the Fitting Room the team puts all three drivers head to head to head to head. Same loft, same shaft, same Opti-Fit configuration to see what the performance and tendencies of each club are. The results were pretty interesting and definitely surprised us. Enjoy the latest Fitting Room Face Off!
The secret menu items at a restaurant are always the best. So we thought...what if we could bring that same concept to our Apex Combo set offerings? Sure, the classic "Mixed set" of Apex and Apex Pro has been available in the past, but with the addition of the Apex DCB and Apex MB the possibilities become a little more interesting. And thanks to Callaway's Director of Fitting and Player Performance, Michael Vrska, we took our combo set offerings to the next level.
Earlier this year, we went through the new Apex Irons and broke down each model, the design profile, and in general which player is each model designed for. For many reasons, we wanted to put our hypothesis to the test and see what happens to perfomance when one player hits all three irons. So Nate, D-Nevs, and Producer Tyler went to the Ely Callaway Performance Center and hit each head built to their respective specs to evaluate the performance and tendencies of each club...and the results offered some real surprises. Enjoy the latest Fitting Room Face Off!
The White Hot insert is perhaps the most legendary and renown putter face insert of all time. It's two-part urethane insert that achieves an almost mythical combination of feel, sound, and performance. It has been the gold standard for putter inserts for 20+ years on Tour and is still the preferred insert of the best in the world. There's also a good chance you have a white hot putter stashed in the garage somewhere.
There are two Epic Fairway models this year, the Epic Speed and Epic MAX, in this episode we run you through the tech, specs, and best way to set these fairway woods up for maximum performance in your bag.
It's time to talk about the big stick! The New Epic family of Drivers has arrived. Whether it's the new Epic Speed, the Epic Max or Epic Max LS, they are fast, forgiving, distance machines that will have you hitting it longer and straighter (once you get fit, of course!) than ever before.
