A Stroke of Genius

Stroke Lab is about challenging common, well-established putter norms with innovative ideas that promote better performance. The new Stroke Lab line of putters incorporates a unique new method of weight distribution designed to improve the physical dynamics of the stroke.

Most golfers’ putting strokes are inconsistent. Yet most putting technologies focus on improving alignment or improving the quality of roll. They attempt to mask a given stroke’s weaknesses instead of improving those weaknesses. Odyssey’s new Stroke Lab putter line helps improve the stroke through a profound change in weight distribution made possible by an innovative new shaft*. This is a completely new approach to putter weighting, and only Odyssey has it.

The Stroke Lab shaft is a full 40 grams lighter**, made possible by an innovative new multi-material shaft design that combines a graphite body with a steel tip to net out at just 75g, with most of the mass concentrated in the tip. We’ve redistributed that saved weight by adding 10g to the head in the form of two sole weights, and adding 30g to the grip-end via a 10g-lighter grip and 40g end-weight.

The effect of Stroke Lab’s innovative weight distribution on the stroke is dramatic. Odyssey studies indicate improvements in the consistency of backswing time, face-angle at impact, ball speed, and ball direction*. Feel for the putterhead becomes more acute, helping the golfer repeat the same, smooth stroke time after time.

Stroke Lab putters are targeted at any golfer who wants to putt better (that’s everyone). The Stroke Lab lineup consists of 10 great shapes -- six mallets and four blades – all with our newest White Hot Microhinge insert for smooth roll and great feel, in a choice of pistol grip or oversize grip.

Multi-material Stroke Lab Shaft for Innovative Weight Distribution

Tip-heavy graphite and steel shaft saves 40 grams* that’s relocated into each end of the putter to change performance dynamics.

Slightly Stiffer and Lower Torque for Increased Control

The Stroke Lab shaft is slightly stiffer and lower torque compared to standard putter shafts for to better control the slightly heavier head.

Sole Weights and Grip Weight for a Smooth and Accurate Stroke

Additional weight in the sole and butt-end of the grip change the putter’s dynamics to help golfers consistently repeat a smoother and more accurate stroke.

White Hot Microhinge Face Insert for a Great Feel and Smooth Roll

Combines legendary White Hot feel with dozens of microhinges embedded across the face that promote topspin for smooth roll and acute distance control.

*Improvement claims based on comparison testing versus an Odyssey #7 putter.
** Compared to a standard Odyssey steel putter shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing fee Got my 'like new' Odyssey Stroke Lab Nine putter a few weeks ago. VERY nice. The new shaft really does promote a more even stroke. I've always been a pretty good putter. Love the distance control on lag putts. Nothing like rolling it up to a foot or two on those 50+' putts for a tap in 2 putt. While practicing a couple of weeks ago I actually holed 3 out of 4 from 42'. Been playing north of 55 years. Never done anything close to that. The 4th was hole high and 3" to the left of the hole. One of the other things I love is the sound/feel when striking the putt. Almost no sound, just very quick roll and smooth feel. The single alignment line is easy for me to get the ball rolling on my intended line. Loving it. Try one. You'll love it too. I'm 75 w/7.5 index.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cloud 9! After rolling putts for a few weeks at my local golf store with the Stroke Lab Nine putter I decided to make the purchase and put it in the bag. I'm really glad I did!! This heel shafted putter has great feel and rolls putts very well. So well that I had my personal best round just two weeks after having the Stroke Lab Nine Putter in the bag. The putts roll so well with this one and for me it is visually appealing down and behind the ball. I highly recommend this model to anyone struggling with consistency and confidence. Stroke Lab Nine putter will have you on Cloud 9 making more putts! Great work Odyssey!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this putter I know the number 9 is not the most common of models but I love how it combines the rounded back with a blade like front. The toe hang is enough without being over done and what can I say about the shaft other than it's amazing. The only thing I had to adjust to was the distance control on long rolls. Anything inside 10 feet is a bullseye.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel and alignment Overall quality putter head feel not as heavy still adjusting but feel on long putts and alignment ease excellent

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality in like new condition Love all the latest technology and cutting edge research. The flow offset gives you the right amount of shaft forward lean and the toe hang makes for a smooth release through impact. I like to use an open stance and the white line on the flange helps to visualize the proper arc.
