After quitting the game in 1995 and working as a cellular phone salesman, Rich returned to golf and earned his Tour Card for 1999 with an eighth place finish at Q-School. In 2002, he had a career year, finishing seventh on the money list and winning the season's final major, the PGA Championship at Hazeltine. His best finish in 2005 was a tie for second at the BellSouth Classic, where he birdied two of the last three holes to get into a five-way playoff that was eventually won by fellow Callaway Golf Staff Professional Phil Mickelson. Rich has three career PGA Tour victories. During the off-season, he has recently taken up snowboarding and says he has quickly become addicted to it.
